The Consulate
General of Malaysia, Vancouver BC was established on 18 July 1991 and
operated from a temporary office premise of the then Malaysia Tourism
Information Center (now Tourism Malaysia) at 830, Burrard Street, Vancouver
BC. On 1 October 1991, the Consulate General moved into a temporary rented
office space at No. 999, Canada Place, Vancouver BC for two (2) months
before it was relocated at the 19th Floor of a 23 floor commercial building
of Cathedral Place at 1900-925, West Georgia Street, Vancouver BC.
On 1 December 2000, the office was finally relocated to the current premise
at Suite 1805, Terasen Center, 1111 West Georgia Street, Vancouver BC.
The consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General covers three Canadian
provinces, namely British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Malaysian in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan may renew their passports through the Consulate.
Applicants are advised to submit their applicants well ahead of time e.g. 6
months before the passport expires.
APPLICATION FOR NEW/REPLACEMENT MALAYSIA PASSPORT (MRP)
Kindly submit the following documents:-
APPLICATION FOR NEW/REPLACEMENT MALAYSIA PASSPORT (MRP)
1. Application FORM (IM42-Pin 1/97);
2. Your current Passport;
3. Your original Birth Certificate;
4. Your original Identity Card;
5. Your original Citizenship Certificate; (if applicable)
6. Two (2) recent passport sized colour photos measuring 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm
with a blue background taken from the studio;
7. For students, please produce a valid student permit and letter from the
University/College/School confirming that you are student;
8. Fee: CAD125.00 (cash). Validity of passport : 5 years
9. Affix your right thumb print as indicated on form;
10. Complete the enclosed registration form;
11. Landed Immigrants in Canada for 3 years or longer, please produce a
letter from the Citizenship and Immigration Canada stating you have not
acquired Canadian Citizenship; or Permanent Resident Card (PR Card);
12. A copy of your Permanent Resident Card (front and back);
13. A self-addressed envelope with sufficient stamps to cover the return of
your documents by registered mail or express post envelope; and
14. If you have changed your name, please produce a Deed Poll.
Processing takes three (3) to
five (5) months.
All Malaysians residing in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan are
strongly advised to register with the Consulate General of Malaysia in
Vancouver in view of the frequency of natural and man-made disasters
worldwide. Information gathered during registration would facilitate
expeditious consular assistance and easy access to communication with the
next-of-kin in case of Emergency.

2. Police Report
3. Original Identity Card
4. Original Birth Certificate
5. Original Citizenship Certificate (if applicable)
6. Two (2) recent passport sized colour photos measuring 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm
with a BLUE BACKGROUND taken from the studio;
7. Permanent Resident Card (front and back); (if you do not have a
Permanent Resident Card and you have been in Canada for 3 years or longer,
please produce a letter from the Citizenship and Immigration Canada
stating that you have not acquired Canadian Citizenship) and copy
8. Work permit certified by the Honorary Consul (if applicable)
9. Affix your right thumb print as indicated on form;
10. For students, please produce a valid student permit.
11. Please
call us for the current fee.
12. Complete the enclosed registration form;
13. A self-addressed envelope with sufficient stamps to cover the return
of your documents by registered mail or express post envelope;
14. If you have changed your name, please produce a Deed Poll.
