Malaysian Embassy in Manama, Bahrain

The Embassy of Malaysia in the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as other Malaysia’s diplomatic representatives worldwide are under the custody of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

The Embassy of Malaysia in the Kingdom of Bahrain was established on 17th September 2003.

Only a few Malaysian Missions overseas are given the authority to issue travelling documents / passport to Malaysians abroad. For missions without the authority, applications can still be made through Malaysian Mission who would then submit the application to the Immigration Department of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. The estimated time of process is between 1-3 months. To ensure a prompt processing please make sure that all supporting documents are certified by a Notary Public, failure to do so will only delay your application.

Passport is an important document therefore it must be in the safe custody of the holder at all times. All applicants MUST submit and collect document personally at the Embassy.

Documents required as follows:

· 2 Copies of Malaysian Identity Card
· Copy of old passport
· Copy of father passport (Child application)
· Borang W / Birth Certificate (Child application)
· Borang A1/B1 (Child below 12 application)
· Thumbprint (right or Left)
· Infant no signature required
· 2 Copies of Citizenship (if applicable)
· 2 Copies of Marriage Certificate (for first application for child)
· 2 Copies of letter from your employer/ confirming your status
· 2 Copies proof of visa status, (If your visa is attached in your old passport, kindly provide certified copy).
· The fee BD 35.000 for 48 Pages Passport (NO PERSONAL CHECK)
· Two (2) recent passport sized photo

Application forms IM.42 can be download from www.imi.gov.my or collected from the Embassy.

All fee payments are through Bahrain Dinar.

Please follow the instruction carefully. The Embassy of Malaysia will not be responsible for passports/documents lost in mail.

ISSUANCE OF DAMAGE MALAYSIAN PASSPORT

1. Form Im.42 (Please print on both side of paper. Printing on two pieces of paper will not be accepted). Application forms IM.42 can be download from www.imi.gov.my or collected from the Embassy.

· Cover Letter explaining why the Passport is damage
· 2 Copies of Malaysian Identity Card
· 2 Copies of Birth Certificate
· 2 Copies of Citizenship (if applicable)
· 2 Copies of Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
· 2 Copies of Permanent Resident Card
· 2 Copies of letter from your employer/school confirming your status
· 2 Copies proof of visa status
· The fee Bahrain BD Embassy of Malaysia BD 35.000 = MY 300.00(for 48 (NO PERSONAL CHECK)
· Four (4) recent passport-sized photograph

IMPORTANT NOTE:

- Please be sure to place your right thumb print the application form IM.42 in black ink.

- All the applications will be send back to Malaysia and will be investigate by the Immigration Department in Malaysia for approval and issuance of new passport.

- This process will take between two to three months (sometimes more) to complete.

- All supporting documents MUST be certified by a Notary Public or Embassy.

- Failure to do so will only delay the process of your application.
 

ISSUANCE OF LOST MALAYSIAN PASSPORT

Effective March 1, 2009 all applications will be forwarded to Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia, Putrajaya, Malaysia for processing and approval. The estimated time of process is between 1-3 months.

To ensure a prompt processing please make sure that all supporting documents are certified by a Notary Public, failure to do so will only delay your application.

All lost passport applications must go through a thorough investigation by Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia before any consideration can be made for its replacement. Passport is an important document therefore it must be in the safe custody of the holder at all times.

All applicants MUST submit and collect document personally at the Embassy.
